My iPhone: Jelly Mill Falls

Jelly Mill Falls

Dummerston, Vermont

This is another personal preference set, like the photographs at Plainfield MA Beach I posted these both in Sepia and Color to see what you think.   This area is known as the Jelly Mill Falls in Dummerston VT.   This photograph is actually an 8 shots stitched together, all taken with my iPhone 4.

My iPhone; Watching all the cars go by

Jackson, New York

Sometimes you just have to use what is available. Today was a good example of that, I was working in New York and on my way home when I saw this deer with two others, standing beside the road .  I was able to take this shot with my iPhone, as it was the only camera I had available to me at the time.   It is a little off my iPhone theme but I couldn't pass it up.  No Sepia this time

My iPhone; On the water

Plainfield, Massachusetts

This time out in "My iPhone" I decided to give you two views of the same thing, to see what you think.  No alterations other than a little cropping and of course making the switch to Sepia tone.  This photograph was shot at the Plainfield MA public beach late this afternoon. Quite the difference wouldn't you say

My iPhone: Leaves at Dusk

Townshend, Vermont

I had this idea yesterday to adapt a gallery exhibit I had seen involving photographs taken only with a smart phone cameras.  In my case I am going to produce images using my iPhone and Aperture photo software to create Sepia tone images.  I thought it would be interesting and fun to photograph things that interest me on the spur of the moment, using only the phone and then create the Sepia look.  I will post them to the blog titled My iPhone.    Tonight it is raining rather heavily in Vermont and the effect of the wet leaves on my deck at dusk caught my eye, so that is the theme tonight.

My iPhone; In the Neighborhood

Townshend, Vermont

Not long ago I attended a gallery exhibit that featured a section of photographs all taken by the artists' smart phones.   The images in the exhibit, a of walk of life photo-essay style,  were raw they had no corrections of enhancements. I like the idea but my twist on it is here I like the sepia tone photographs so I tweaked my image abit using Aperture.

Look who's come to dinner

This evening Nancy was getting the table ready for dinner while I was finishing work for the day, she had just sat down when I heard in a rather excited tone, "BEAR !   BEAR!! on the deck,  BEAR!!! on the Deck RIGHT NOW!!!!"   I came into the dinning room to see this guy climbing the railing and heading to check out the bird feeder.  He was disappointed as that feeder has been empty for months.  I was able to take several shots of him from less than 10 feet, before he half jumped, half climbed down the rail and went out to the apple tree in the back yard.

I think this guy is the same one who decided that our trash bin was a lawn toy
last Saturday and knocked it all over the side yard.

Published Works: Weird

I'm looking at this ad over Nancy's shoulder this evening and I said to her that's a niece looking piece who did that?? she says, you seriously don't recognize my work!  Ummmmmmmm
You don't recognize your own photograph?  Ahhhhhhhhhh   Do you need testing?

All kidding aside this was the first effort Nancy made with these SuperDuo Beads and it came out great she did a wonderful job!  and it was very nice of Beadsmith to put it in their add.

Creatures in the Tree

These little guys live in a tree at the end of our driveway, based on their size they were born recently and have just started to venture out of the den.  They don't go to far from their home but are very interested in things around them.   There appears to be  6 maybe as many as 8 in this tree.      All photographs shot with 400mm lens   ISO 12800 f/7 1/250th of second during the late evening hours.

Published work

For those of you who have viewed my blog in the past, you have seen this piece before, it's Nancy's bead embroidered necklace Dryad.  This piece was selected as a finalist for the 2010 Bead and Button Bead Dreams competition, and while it did not place in the "winners circle" it was quite an honor for us to see it get so far.  After Dryad returned from the show it            spent some time in the Sharon Arts Center as part of Nancy's featured artist exhibit, and returned later in the year as part of the Members' Artists show.  It was also on display for a couple of months in Keene New Hampshire at New England Beads.  Life has been a lot quieter for Dryad this past year, with one exception;  she came out of her private storage container to be photographed for a book.  That book, Beaded Fantasies by Sabine Lippert, was recently published and our copy arrived this afternoon.  Dryad was joined by Nancy's Regal bracelet and earring combination, and both can be found on page 136 of the book. Needless to say I am exceedingly proud on Nancy and her work.

Oh yes Nancy would be upset with me for not mentioning the photo credit I received.
